Mahindra unveils new XUV 3XO, Force Gurkha gets 5-door variant

Mahindra XUV 3XO

Mahindra has shown off their new car, the XUV 3XO. It starts at ₹7.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The XUV 3XO is like a newer version of the XUV300. It comes in different models: MX1 Pro, MX2 Pro, MX3, AX5, AX5L, AX7, and AX7L. It has many updates like a new look outside, changes inside the car, new features, and an automatic transmission.

Overdrive’s Tuhin Guha has driven the 2024 Mahindra XUV 3XO and given their review.

The Force Gurkha has not just been given a new look. Now, it also has a five-door version and is still very good for off-road driving. The Gurkha 5-door can fit seven people. The longer wheelbase means there’s more space, with a bench seat in the second row and two separate seats in the third. Because it’s built differently, the space inside isn’t as big as it seems from the outside. So, you might need a step ladder and handles to climb into the high seats.

Other features include tilt-adjustable steering, power windows, LED lights, and central locking. Overdrive’s Rohit Paradkar gets more information about it.

Bajaj’s 2024 Pulsar N250: A triumph or a miss?

Bajaj, one of India’s leading motorcycle manufacturers, has introduced the latest iteration of its flagship naked motorcycle, the Bajaj Pulsar N250. Touted as the most powerful naked Pulsar currently available in the country, the N250 promises to address some of the shortcomings of its predecessors while retaining its iconic design and performance.

While the visual aesthetics remain largely unchanged, the 2024 model sports new decals adorning its bodywork, along with noticeable updates to its imposing upside-down fork. However, where the real strides are made is in the realm of features. Bajaj has diligently addressed the previous model’s deficiencies by introducing a slew of upgrades.

The centerpiece of the enhancements is the revamped LCD display, now equipped with turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, riders can now benefit from a switchable traction control system, accompanied by three distinct ABS ride modes catering to various road conditions: road, rain, and off-road.

Despite the focus on features and visual refinements, Bajaj has opted to retain the tried-and-tested powertrain configuration from its predecessor. The new N250 is powered by a 249cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled SOHC engine which delivers a maximum power output of 24.5PS at 8,750rpm, coupled with a peak torque of 21.5 Nm at 6,500rpm. While the engine exhibits a degree of refinement, it falls short of the liveliness found in some of its competitors, notably the KTM lineup.

With the unveiling of the 2024 Pulsar N250, Bajaj aims to address the shortcomings of its predecessors and enhance the overall appeal of its flagship naked motorcycle. But has the company succeeded in its endeavour?

Overdrive’s Christopher Chaves, takes the new N250 for a spin to provide comprehensive insights into its performance, handling, and overall riding experience.

Additionally, Overdrive presents a mega motorcycle comparison test in the fiercely competitive sports bike segment. Delve into this comprehensive analysis to discover how the latest offerings from various manufacturers stack up against each other in terms of performance, features, and value for money.

Such acceleration places it among the elite ranks of the top 10 fastest EVs globally. Overdrive’s Rohit Paradkar gives a deep dive into its capabilities.

Will Mavrick 440 redefine Hero MotoCorp’s presence in premium motorcycle segment? Here’s an indepth review

Hero MotoCorp’s venture into the premium motorcycle space has been marked by the unveiling of the Hero Mavrick 440, a groundbreaking product that carries the promise of a new era for the brand.

Positioned as Hero’s first premium offering, the Mavrick 440 aims to transcend the limitations of the 200cc category and establish a stronghold in the competitive 400cc premium motorcycle market.

At the heart of the Mavrick 440 lies a robust 440cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled SOHC engine, showcasing Hero’s commitment to delivering performance-driven motorcycles.

Generating an impressive 27.3PS and 36Nm of torque, this engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, ensuring a dynamic and exhilarating riding experience. It’s noteworthy that the Mavrick’s engine shares its roots with the Harley-Davidson X440, although with a slight reduction in torque compared to its counterpart.

The Mavrick 440 is the result of the ongoing collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson, marking the second-twin born of this partnership.

While the Mavrick shares similarities with the previously introduced X400, there are notable differentiators. These include a smaller 17-inch front wheel, a reverse LCD instrumentation display, and a simpler telescopic fork coupled with dual spring suspension units – distinctions from the X440, which features an 18-inch front wheel, a coloured TFT screen, and a more advanced USD fork with gas-charged dual spring suspension.

Hero MotoCorp has strategically positioned the Mavrick 440 with a competitive pricing strategy. The base variant is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh ex-showroom, the mid variant at Rs 2.14 lakh, and the top variant at Rs 2.24 lakh. This pricing structure makes the Mavrick 440 an attractive option for enthusiasts seeking a premium motorcycle without breaking the bank.

The Hero Mavrick 440 not only signifies Hero MotoCorp’s foray into the premium motorcycle segment but also signals the brand’s ambition to challenge the status quo. With its powerful performance, distinctive design, and strategic pricing, the Mavrick 440 aims to carve a niche for itself in the fiercely competitive 400cc premium motorcycle market.

In addition to the Hero Mavrick, Overdrive has also reviewed the new Tata Tigor iCNG AMT variant, providing insights into the growing trend of alternative fuel vehicles. Furthermore, the 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 motorcycle has been put under the spotlight, offering a glimpse into the evolving landscape of high-performance bikes.
