Bajaj Auto Ltd. on Monday reported a 9.9 percent year-on-year fall in total vehicle sales in February. The company sold 354,913 units in last month as compared to 393,089 units it sold in February 2019.
Total domestic vehicle sales in February declined 24 percent to 168,747 units from 221,706 units while exports rose 9 percent to 186,166 units YoY.
The company’s two-wheeler sales during the month fell 5 percent to 310,222 units from 327,985 units YoY. Domestic two-wheeler sales declined 21 percent to 146,876 units, while exports rose by 15 percent to 163,346 units YoY.
Bajaj’s commercial vehicle segment also registered 31 percent fall in total sales during the month at 44,691 units as compared to 65,104 units sold in the year-ago month.
The company sold 21,871 units of commercial vehicles in the domestic market, 38 percent lower than that sold in February 2019. Exports of commercial vehicles also declined 24 percent to 22,870 units YoY.
At 10:05 am, shares of Bajaj Auto were trading 0.31 percent higher at Rs 2,899.35 on the BSE.
