SGX Nifty | Trends on SGX Nifty suggest a positive start to the broader market in India, with gain of 0.3 percent. Nifty Futures were trading at 18,052.5 on the Singaporean exchange around 7.20am.
Dalal Street | Indian benchmark indices ended Thursday’s trading session in the green. Both, the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 ended nearly 0.6 percent up.

Crude Oil | Brent oil prices edged 0.11 percent lower at $78,28 a barrel around 7.15am on Friday.
Gold | Spot gold fell nearly 0.04 percent to $1,998.20 per ounce around 7.15am on Friday.
Cryptocurrency | Bitcoin was trading nearly 0.4 percent up at $29,551 at 7.15am, while the Ethereum blockchain network was trading nearly 2.6 percent higher at $1,914.48.
Russia-Ukraine War | Russian troops tried to sever important supple routes in Bakhmut, the eastern Ukrainian city, on Thursday. This resulted in more pressure on the defending forces, said Ukrainian officers.

A CNBC-TV18 poll had seen 90 percent of economists predict a 25 bps rate hike. Thus, the lending rate stands at 6.5 percent as announced on Feb 8 in the previous policy.

53% asset monetisation target for FY23 met till January | The government achieved 53 percent of the FY23 asset monetisation aim of 1.62 lakh crores by January end. In other words, proposals worth 76,000 crores of the 1.62 lakh crores FY23 monetisation pipeline were completed for review, the Finance Ministry has told Parliament.

Rupee | The rupee closed at 81.9 against the US dollar on Wednesday, gaining 42 paise.
Crude Oil | Brent oil prices edged nearly 0.7 percent lower at $84.42 a barrel around 7.35am on Thursday.
Gold | Spot gold fell nearly 0.3 percent to $2,028.8 per ounce around 7.40am on Thursday.
Cryptocurrency | Bitcoin was trading nearly 0.3 percent lower at $28,080 at 7.40am on Monday while the Ethereum blockchain network was trading 1.6 percent higher at $1,898.18.
Russia-Ukraine War | Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a trip to Warsaw on Wednesday said that Poland will help form a coalition of powers from the West to supply warplanes to Ukraine as it had done with battle tanks earlier this year.

MGNREGA new wages
Wage rates | The Central government notified a hike in wage rates under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) for FY 2022-2024. After the hike Haryana has the highest daily wage at Rs 357 per day. While Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh stand at the lowest with Rs 221 per day.
Rupee | The rupee fell by 20 paise and closed 82.40 against the US dollar on Friday.
Crude Oil
Crude Oil | Brent oil price edged lower at 0.03 percent at $74,97a barrel at 7.30 am on Monday.
China has found a new super deposit of gold in Shandong Province. Located within the Xilaokou gold mine in Rushan, the new deposit holds an estimated reserve of 50 tonnes. The discovery comes after eight years of surveys and will help China increase its gold reserves and stock of critical resources. But while China's gold output has been steadily increasing over recent years, its gold reserves are far from the largest. Although most currencies are no longer backed by gold, central banks across the world keep bullion reserves as part of their forex reserves. Here are the countries with the largest gold reserves in the world as of December 2022, according to data compiled by the World Gold Council.

Cryptocurrency | Bitcoin was trading 2.1 percent higher at $27860.20 at 7.30am on Monday while the Ethereum blockchain network was trading nearly 2.3 percent at $1,764.38.
Russia-Ukraine War | The UN nuclear watchdog, International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) director general Rafael Grossi will not travel to Russia this week, but may visit in the near future, Russian news agency RIA reported. Grossi on Saturday had said that this week he would visit Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant in Ukraine which is held by Russia to assess the situation.

Rupee | The rupee gained 39 paise to close at 82.20 against the US dollar on Thursday, tracking the weakness of the American currency in the overseas market.

Crude Oil | Brent oil price edged lower by 1.09 percent at $75.08 a barrel at 7:30 am on Friday.
Gold | Spot gold gained 0.07 percent to $1,994.60 per ounce as of 7:30 am on Friday.
