Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal etched his name in the T20 record books as he became the first Indian bowler to complete 350 wickets in cricket’s shortest format.
Chahal reached the milestone during Rajasthan Royal’s IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old completed 350 T20 wickets in T20s when he claimed the scalp of DC skipper Rishabh Pant. Chahal finished with the figures of 1/48 in 4 overs.
Chahal is also the fifth-highest wicket-taking spinner in the history of T20s. Rashid Khan is the spinner with most T20 wickets. Afghanistan’s T20I captain has claimed 572 scalps in cricket’s shortest format.
Earlier in this season, Chahal became the first bowler in the IPL to complete 200 wickets.
Chahal has played 80 T20Is for India and picked 96 wickets.
