Stoinis, batting at No. 3, scored 13 boundaries and hit six maximums to get to 124 off 63 deliveries against the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led team, helping the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) chase down 211 with three balls to spare.

He formed an important 70-run partnership with Nicholas Pooran for the fourth wicket with the two power hitters breaking the momentum of the CSK bolwers with the brute force that they unleashed against them.
Naturally, there is an intrigue regarding the profile of Stoinis and the salary that he is drawing at LSG.
What is the IPL salary of Marcus Stoinis?
The LSG management had arguably sprung a surprise by making Stoinis one of their draft picks ahead of the mega auction in IPL 2022.
This meant that he didn’t go to the auction, and was already roped into the LSG setup along with KL Rahul and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.
Whilst LSG paid ₹17 crore for Rahul, the franchise shelled out ₹11 crore for Stoinis. This meant a significant mark-up from the ₹4.8 crore for which he was bought by the Delhi Capitals (DC) before the IPL 2020 auction.
Stoinis has played 90 IPL matches and aggregated 1732 runs at an average of 28.87 and strike rate of 143.14. He has notched eight half-centuries and a solitary century in the tournament, with the help of 133 boundaries and 87 maximums. He has picked 41 dismissals in 90 matches as well, bowling at an economy rate of 9.57 and taking one four-wicket haul.
Statistically, 2023 was his best season in the IPL, where he scored 408 runs at an average of 31.38 and strike rate of 150. He will hope to replicate similar form in the current campaign in a bid to help LSG qualify for the playoffs and go one step ahead to clinch the title this time around.
