Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Shivam Dube hit a hat-trick of sixes against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) speedster Yash Thakur in the 16th over of the first innings of their fixture at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Dube ended that over at 37 runs off 14 deliveries, pouncing upon some of the length and slower deliveries placed on his platter by Thakur, depositing them in the stands on the leg side.

Dube was demoted to No. 5 in this match as CSK opted to continue with Ravindra Jadeja at No. 4. The latter played a sluggish knock of 16 runs off 19 deliveries, before he ended up nicking one to keeper-captain KL Rahul.
However, Dube gave a good account of his utility in the middle-overs by getting into the groove straightaway, tearing apart the LSG bowling unit with his wide hitting range and the brute force that he applied behind his shots.
For the first maximum, Dube picked up a slightly short length delivery and pulled it square of the wicket beyond the deep mid-wicket boundary. He continued targetting the same region for the next two deliveries, ensuring that CSK yielded 19 runs off that over, which was the first one after the second strategic powerplay, swaying the momentum of the game in the favour of the Super Kings.
