SRH playoffs chances in IPL 2024: With as many as five teams in the fray for the two spots that seem to be open in the race for playoffs, SRH are in a comparitively more comfortable setting but can’t let their foot off the pedal in their last three matches.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are set to take on the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 fixture on Wednesday (May 8).
With 12 points from 11 games, SRH are placed fourth in the points table currently. However, it is not going to be an easy ride for them given that as many as three other teams, i.e. the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Delhi Capitals (DC), and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are all tied at 12 points too.
What if SRH win against LSG?
If SRH emerge victorious against LSG, they will displace CSK at the third spot, with a potential 14 points to their name.
This will mean that they will be behind of only the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), who have 16 points each in the tournament so far.

They will climb to a strong place with regards to their qualification chances, with other teams finding it difficult to beat them to a playoffs spot with a prospective victory on Wednesday.
What if SRH lose against LSG?
Even is SRH lose against LSG, a win in each of their remaining two matches should guarantee them a spot in the final-four. However, the net run rate (NRR) of all teams concerned will play a massive role amidst this mid-table muddle.
Currently’s SRH NRR stands at -0.065, which isn’t particularly impressive given that they have been one of the most formidable batting units this year, posting high totals on a regular basis. However, their tendency to leak runs whilst defending these big scores means that their NRR has taken a hit.
