IPL 2024: Virat Kohli goes past 500-run mark, joins David Warner for this record

Royal Challengers Bengaluru star batter Virat Kohli completed 500 runs during the ongoing season of the IPL.

Kohli surpassed 500-run mark during RCB’s IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium.  Kohli made unbeaten unbeaten 70 as RCB chased down 200 against GT in 16 overs with 9 wickets to spare.  It was the team’s second highest run-chase in IPL history.

Kohli’s unbeaten fifty was backed by Will Jack’s maiden IPL hundred.

Kohli has exactly scored 500 runs this season. The batting maestro has hit four fifties and one century this year. He is averaging 71.43 and has a strike rate of 147.49.

It is for the 7th time that Kohli has surpassed 500-run mark in a IPL season.  With that Kohli has joined David Warner as the batters who have the most 500+ run seasons in a IPL season.

Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul are the two other batters who find their names in the list. Both Dhawan and Rahul have breached 500-run mark in a single IPL season four times each.
