IRB Infrastructure Q4 Results | Net profit surges 45%, dividend declared

IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd on Tuesday (May 7) reported a 45.1% year-on-year (YoY) jump in net profit at ₹188.9 crore for the fourth quarter that ended March 31, 2024.

In the corresponding quarter, IRB Infrastructure Developers posted a net profit of ₹130.2 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. The company’s revenue from operations increased 27.2% to ₹2,061.2 crore against ₹1,620 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal.

At the operating level, EBITDA increased 17.3% to ₹889.9 crore in the fourth quarter of this fiscal over ₹758.7 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. EBITDA is earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation.

The EBITDA margin stood at 43.2% in the reporting quarter against 46.8% in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal.

IRB Infrastructure’s total aggregate payout stands at ₹181 crore as dividend for FY24 (including the third interim dividend declared today, May 7). The company, along with the IRB Infrastructure Trust (Private InvIT Associate) reported 24% year-on-year growth in the toll collection for FY24 (₹5,169 crore in FY24 vs ₹4,180 crore in FY23).

The company was awarded TOT-12 (single largest continuous stretch on NH) and TOT-13 projects in Madhya Pradesh (the 12th Indian state for company) and Rajasthan.  Subsequently, it commenced tolling on both projects after making an upfront payment of concession fee of ₹6,111 crore to the NHAI. With this, the company’s market share in the toll-operate-transfer (TOT) space is now 38%, the largest of any private player in the sector.

The board has declared a third interim dividend of ₹0.10 per equity share of the face value of ₹1 each (10% of the face value of the share) for the financial year 2023-24. The record date for the purpose of payment of dividends is Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

The results came after the close of the market hours. Shares of IRB Infrastructure Developers Ltd ended at ₹65.80, down by ₹1.85, or 2.73%, on the BSE.
