Phase 4 polls | Analysing the triangular battle in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, says expert

Phase 4 of the Lok Sabha Elections will take place on May 13. In this phase, 96 areas across 10 states and territories will vote. Today, we’re focusing on Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The people of Andhra Pradesh will vote to elect a new state government as well as vote in the Lok Sabha polls. Andhra is seeing a triangular contest. The ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party is facing a challenge from Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party which is in alliance with the BJP and actor Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena Party. The Congress-led INDIA bloc is also in the fray in alliance with Left parties.

In Telangana, all 17 Lok Sabha seats will be up for voting on May 13th too. The Congress government in the state, led by Revanth Reddy, is also in a tough fight. They are facing off against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the BJP. This election is crucial for BRS, led by K Chandrasekhar Rao, as they are trying to bounce back after losing to the Congress in the recent state elections.
