Former Congress leader Radhika Khera and actor Shekhar Suman on Tuesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This comes on a day the country is voting for the third phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Khera earlier served as the national coordinator of Congress’ media department. However, she resigned from the grand old party’s primary membership on Sunday, days after her altercation with another party leader at its Chhattisgarh office. Earlier, she claimed that she was facing opposition in the party for her visit to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Meanwhile, Shekhar Suman has been a part of the Indian entertainment industry for the past few decades and has appeared in several popular films, shows and series. He recently appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
Khera and Suman joined the saffron party in the presence of BJP national general secretary Vinod Tawde and national media department in-charge Anil Baluni, among others.

Voting for the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in India was conducted on April 19, followed by the second phase on April 26. While polling for the third phase is taking place on Tuesday, May 7, the remaining phases will be covered in the coming weeks. The counting of votes will be done on June 4.
