Supreme Court granted an interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, May 10. After this, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders and spokespersons held a press conference where National Spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar thanked the Supreme Court for upholding democracy.
Kakkar said: “The interim bail has been granted in very extraordinary circumstances under the serious provisions of PMLA, on the basis of BJP’s statements, Arvind Kejriwal was imprisoned during the Lok Sabha elections. This is the last chance to save the democracy and we call upon the citizens, media and all of you to uphold democracy in the country.”
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said that getting interim bail in 40 days is more than a miracle. He added that the apex court’s decision is a sign from God that a change is needed in the country, with whatever is happening.
“Arvind Kejriwal has the blessings of Lord Bajrangbali and today he will come out of jail. I think it’s not an ordinary thing and he is coming out of jail for a big purpose,” Bharadwaj added.
Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi said, “It is not just Arvind Kejriwal who has got interim bail but by Supreme Court’s this decision truth has triumphed, this is a win of the democracy and constitution. In the history of the nation time and time again when the democracy and constitution had been under danger, the Supreme Court had stepped forward. The SC has played a major role in protecting Democracy.”

Meanwhile, the workers of the AAP celebrated outside the party office and raised slogans in Delhi, after Delhi CM Kejriwal was granted interim bail till June 1 by the Supreme Court. Kejriwal has also been permitted to participate in election campaigns for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Delhi goes to polls on May 25 in the sixth phase of the elections.
