Delhi police said that it had received 131 PCR calls which were made by schools in the city after a few schools received bomb threats by email.

At least 11 schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region received bomb threats on May 1 morning, police said. Following reports of PCR calls this morning, schools are sending students back home.

PCR calls regarding the bomb threats were made to Sanskriti School of Chanakyapuri police station area of ​​New Delhi district, Mayur Vihar of East Delhi, and DPS School of Dwarka district.

Other schools where such threats were received include DPS School, DAV School and Amity School, Saket, located in the Vasant Kunj area of ​​South Delhi.

–Delhi Police stated that it had received 131 PCR calls which were made by schools in the city after a few schools received bomb threats by email. The police said that it conducted thorough checks of all such schools and found nothing objectionable. The matter is under investigation by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.

–Delhi Education Minister Atishi commented, “It’s very unfortunate that someone is targeting children and their parents to trouble them. Fortunately, this threat turned out to be a hoax. We were in constant touch with the Delhi Police. They sent bomb squads to each threatened school, conducting thorough searches. No dangerous item was found in any school. We hope Delhi Police will soon identify the sender of this hoax email and take strict action. I urge parents not to panic. Schools will be closely monitored and will function normally from tomorrow onwards.”

I want to assure the people of Delhi that Delhi Police is fully prepared and we will try to prevent any untoward incident from happening. “I request the parents not to panic and co-operate with the administration in ensuring safety of schools and the children. The miscreants and culprits will not be spared,” he added.

-Noida Police said that classes have been suspended in DPS, Noida and police force has been deployed. “Taking immediate cognizance of the information, checking is being done around the school by the police force. Other necessary measures are also being taken,” the Noida Police said in a brief statement.

-All schools have been evacuated after local police was informed about the emails, Delhi Police officials said. Bomb detection team, bomb disposal squad and officials of fire brigade have been rushed to the schools in Delhi and a search operation is underway, a police officer said.

-An officer told news agency PTI that more schools are said to have received a similar threat mail and it is suspected that one person was behind it all.

-The Delhi Police is investigating the matter. “Information was received via email regarding a bomb threat at DPS Noida. Teams of Noida Police, fire tenders, and Bomb Disposal Squad are present at the spot. Students have been sent back home. Checking is underway, so far we have not received anything…,” DIG, Addl. “This is to inform you that the school has received an email that threatens the safety and security of the students. As a precautionary measure, we are sending the students back home immediately. Private commuters please arrange to collect your child from the school premises as soon as possible from the respective gates. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Principal’s Office,” one of the Delhi-NCR-based schools said in a message to parents.
