This comes a day after Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena asked the director general of prisons to submit a factual report into AAP’s allegations that Kejriwal was denied insulin in the Tihar jail.
Saxena’s order came after Delhi minister Atishi claimed there was a plot to kill the Delhi Chief Minister by denying him insulin and home-cooked food in jail. The prison authorities have rejected the claims.
“Shri VK Saxena @LtGovDelhi has expressed grave concern over reports based on statements by Ministers & AAP leaders alleging non-provision of insulin to Hon’ble CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal who is in jail & purported ‘conspiracies’ against him,” the Raj Niwas said in a post on social media site X.
It added that the Delhi Lt Governor has asked the DG Prisons to submit a “factual and comprehensive report” in connection with the matter within 24 hours.
“Although Prisons as a transferred subject comes directly & totally under the AAP Govt, LG has assured that no laxity with regards to CM’s health will be tolerated,” it added.

Earlier on Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate claimed before a court that Kejriwal was eating foods high in sugar, including mangoes and sweets, on a daily basis despite having type 2 diabetes to create grounds for medical bail.
The central agency made the claim before a special judge for CBI and ED cases, Kaveri Baweja. After hearing the matter, the Judge directed the jail authorities to file a report on the matter and provide details regarding Kejriwal’s diet chart.
“Kejriwal is consciously consuming items like tea with sugar, mango, banana, sweets (1 or 2 pieces), poori, aaloo sabji, etc. on regular basis, despite being a patient of diabetes mellitus type 2 and knowing very well that consumption of such items results in increase in blood sugar,” ED claimed before the court.
The central agency noted that this was being done to create a medical emergency to obtain “sympathetic treatment from the court of law on medical grounds”.
