Here’s a list of documents which can be used to cast a vote in the absence of a voter’s ID card:
1. Aadhaar Card
2. MNREGA Job Card
3. Passbooks including photographs issued by the Bank/Post Office
4. Passport
5. PAN Card
6. Unique Disability ID (UDID), which is issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
7. Service Identity Cards having photographs issued to employees by Central/State Government/PSUs/Public Limited Companies.
8. Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR.
9. Driving Licence.
10. Health insurance smart card which is issued under the scheme of the Ministry of Labour.
11. Pension documents with photographs.
Here are a few quick steps to check your name on the electoral roll:
Step 1. Visit the official website at voters.eci.gov.in.
Step 2. Select the ‘search in electoral roll’ option.
Step 3. Choose your respective state and preferred language.
Step 4. Provide all the information along with the captcha code.
Step 5. Click on the ‘search’ option to know if your name is listed on the electoral roll.
An individual will be allowed to cast his/her vote only when his/her name appears on the official voters’ list. Follow these steps to register online to be included in the voter list:
Step 1. Open the official website of the Election Commission and search for ‘Form 6’.
Step 2. Fill in the form completely and provide all your details.
Step 3. Upload all the required supporting documents along with the Form 6.
