Uttarakhand revokes licenses of 15 Patanjali, Divya Pharmacy products

Taking cognisance of the recent observations by Supreme court while hearing the matter of misleading advertisements by Patanjali Ayurved, Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority on April 24, issued orders to suspend licence of almost 15 products sold by the company.
Uttarakhand government submitted the product licence suspension order as part of the affidavit filed by the state government to Supreme court.
Supreme court had pulled up Uttarakhand government and state licensing authority for being “hand in glove” with the company and the officials who did not take an appropriate action against misleading ads by the company.
The state government through the order shared that the licences have been suspended with immediate effect under rule 159(1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, empowering state authority to take action.
The state government authority has also mentioned that it has informed about the action taken to Union Ayush Ministry, as part of the process and protocol.
The 14 products sold by Patanjali Ayurved and Divya Pharmacy, of which the manufacturing licences have been suspended include:

Meanwhile, the top court is scheduled to hear the Patanjali matter on Tuesday, April 30, where Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna are expected to be present.
On the other hand, during the day, in a separate story, CNBC-TV18 reported that Patanjali Ayurved has been served a show cause notice by Directorate General for GST Intelligence (DGGI) Meerut Zone for non-payment of GST and claiming fake ITC for the period between 2018-2022. DGGI is understood to have issued 2 show-cause notices to Patanjali Group companies — Patanjali Ayurved and Patanjali Foods, for not paying GST and wrongly claiming Input Tax Credit (ITC) on April 19, 2024.
