Shilpa Medicare’s unit 4 in Telangana gets European certification

Drug firm Shilpa Medicare Ltd on Tuesday (April 16) said it has received the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification from AGES, Austria, for its unit 4 facility in Jadcherla, Telangana.

“This is to inform you that Shilpa Medicare Limited, Unit 4, Jadcherla; Telangana, India was inspected by AGES, Austria from 22 January 2024 until 26 January 2024,” the company said in a stock exchange filing.

“Following a successful inspection, the Unit has been issued GMP Certification from Ages, Austria. The previous EU – GMP inspection for this facility was in January 2020,” it added.

The unit, which was last inspected for EU-GMP compliance in January 2020, underwent a thorough evaluation of its manufacturing, testing, and distribution processes for sterile injections, as well as non-sterile tablets and capsule-finished dosage forms.

“This unit of Shilpa Medicare is engaged in the manufacture, testing and distribution of sterile Injections and non-sterile tablets and Capsule finished dosage forms in the US, Europe and rest of the world markets,” it said,

The inspection will facilitate the continued supply of medicines for commercial distribution to various countries of the European Union.

Shares of Shilpa Medicare Ltd ended at ₹540.45, up by ₹31.25, or 6.14%, on the BSE.
